Must Have Monday: Jane Carter Solution Hair Care

When I first tried Jane Carter Solution, all I knew about the brand was that it was SLS-free and that they didn't think my hair needed a conditioner.* Clearly, Jane had not met my hair nor know of its addiction to eating conditioner and product like it was made of delicious Oreos.

But I gave it a try, washing my hair with her liquid-like Hydrating Invigorating Shampoo. It smelled really nice and didn't feel like it dried my hair out like a rolled bale of hay. It also didn't lather much, mainly because it's SLS-free. But seriously. No follow up, Jane? Just a leave-in conditioner? This doesn't seem like a solution, it seems like a problem in the making.

But ever the hopeful beauty scientist, I continued trying this Solution, if only so I could report back to you. I hunted down my wide-toothed comb, sprayed in the Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner (which smelled amazeballs, btw) and combed my wet, non-conditioned hair very, very carefully.

Much to my surprise, the leave-in conditioner magically released my thick but delicate tresses into shining strands. There were no tangles, no knots. No ripping of hair, no little straining "pops" could be heard. My wide tooth comb glided through my hair. And the scent of the leave-in conditioner was intoxicating.

It was then I knew I was in love with the Jane Carter Solution.

I don't know if it's the aloe or the shampoo or if the scent drugs you, making you believe your hair is amazing. All I do know is that when I get a whiff of the Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner, I don't ever want to use anything else again. Even Loxy repeatedly asked to smell my wet head and fell asleep nuzzled closer to my head than usual.

So the next day, I actually decided to check out Jane Carter Solution and learn more about this new way. Turns out, she specializes in natural hair care for everyone with dry, damaged or ethnic hair. Believing that hair is hair, with just different degrees of dryness and damage, she set out to create something that works for everyone. Formulated with pure organic essential oils, natural butters, vitamins, plant extracts and other natural ingredients, this line focuses on repairing and hydrating dry or damaged hair. Everyone's hair can benefit from Jane Carter Solution. I know I never want to be without her leave-in conditioner. Check out the products online or in Target.

P.S.: Please make a body spray that smells like that. I'll be first in line to buy it. Thanks!

POST UPDATE!

*Technically, Jane Carter Solutions does suggest a conditioner as a follow up. But my natural hair care friends who love the brand told me I wouldn't need it. They were totally right! However, Jane's team suggests the Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner. So I suppose the choice is up to you!
