It's very rare to find a makeup artist say this but I for one am not a massive MAC fan. I never have been, their packaging is nothing special, the brushes which I have had from there have been disappointing, I don't like their pigments and their palest foundation makes me look orange. Not to mention their highly overpriced So yeah, I'm very anti-Mac! HOWEVER! I do like some of their ideas for collections like the Disney Villains and Hey Sailor collections.

That aside I do have a few of these babies, Lip Mixes. So very similar to OCC Lip Tars and Sleek pout paints. There are a few differences, Mac Lip Mixes are not meant to be used on their own, they are highly pigmented and for use on their own they are VERY drying. So advice would be to mix them with a gloss or vaseline to make them pop or for use with other lipsticks to add a bit more colour. You only need a TINY bit as a little goes more than a long way.

I have 6, Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White and a Bright piink, They come in a wide range now with some pale pinks, Burgandy and much more. I have no idea how much they are as I got them as part of my kit on my make up course. I do know they are a 'pro' products. The packaging makes me think of them as little icing tubes for cakes and the way they stain reminds me of food colourings!

The thing I like is that you can mix them together to make some different colours. Below are some I quickly did. A nice Salmon colour using the Red, Yellow and Blue and a bit of White. A Brownish colour using Red and Blue. Green using Yellow and Blue and a more pastel like Yellow simply adding a little white.

They're good and nice enough to use when you know how and you get a lot for your money. I still think I prefer OCC Lip Tars and Sleek Pout Paints. They just don't have that drying feel. Sorry again MAC!
