A few posts ago I wrote about a Matte Primer from the FashionistA range which I LOVED. I picked up these foundations the same time I bought the primer, it was also on sale from £12 to £6 or £8. I'm a sucker for sales and just generally like swapping foundations regularly and as I do a lot of freelance make up its nice to have lots of different foundations on hand for different skin types.
I'm unsure of the design of the packaging, looks nice in my make up kit or on my dressing table but the bottle is made of frosted glass. Heavy weight and I'm guessing once I've pumped it a few times it might get to a point where I can't get much out when there is still a lot of product left. I do however like that they're products are sealed in store (superdrug) as sometimes a lot of cosmetics get tested when they're not even testers. WHICH REALLY GRATES ON ME!!!
The texture was nice, quite thick but creamy. On the bottle it states that it gives an 'illuminous glow' which it does. After applying I didn't feel too shiny, just like I was wearing a nice highlighter with it. It felt a little like the MAC face and body foundation does. It isn't that easy to blend in. I felt like I wanted to use my hands to smooth it which isn't the best sign.
I did have to reapply after about 3/4 hours of being at work but maybe with a bit of powder it might set a bit more and I did apply the matte primer underneath which helped a lot, I think without that underneath it wouldn't have even lasted a couple of hours and definitely would have made my skin look shiny after applying (but hey some people like the shiny look!)
I have pale combination/dry skin most definitely do not think this would be right for a greasy skin in any way shape or form.
I guess its not the best foundation out there but for summer I think it'll come in handy. Covers up blemishes and my freckles well but the lasting power isn't amazing.
Overall I'd give this a slightly reluctant 2.5 out of 5. I really wanted to like this. Not a great design, not 100% worth the money and not diverse enough to work with different skin types other than dry really. There are much better foundations out on the high street for a similar price.
