Animal hand painting

I've never been much of an artist on paper, ask my best friend! Through high school I hated art, so much I once cried when a teacher ripped to shreds a picture of a tiger I once drew (it was diabolical)

Anyway I found my art form in the form of makeup. One of my units I had to cover was body painting and it fills me with dread however I turned out to actually love it! I posted last year the corset I did which I'm really proud of!

Since then I've done a lot of face painting at kids parties and a few adults!

Nowadays a lot of children/adults have allergies to various products on their faces so next best thing is arm/hand painting. It can be so effective whether it's animals or just or camouflage patterns.

One of the easiest to do is the zebra, only black and white colours needed! I did mind in 10 minutes in the following way
1. Use a sponge to whiten the whole of the hands, thumb and part of arm leaving the fingers blank
2. Black out fingers to create mouth/nose illusion of Zebra
3. Draw an eye with a felt eyeliner slightly off centre towards fingers
4. Use a fine brush to draw Stripes, no two zebra have the same stripes so it can be done in anyway you wish

Your Zebra will come alive in front of your eyes!

I used back and white from my Kryolan Aqua colour pallette.

Look at the artist Guido Daniele whom I take my inspiration from. He has a huge collection of hand paintings, including animals, famous buildings and more. http://www.guidodaniele.com/
